Super Bowl Bites + A Quick Update

Super Bowl Game Day Eats + What’s New Around Here

It’s been a couple of months since my last newsletter, and I wanted to tell you why. In December, I had an external audit done on my website to identify ways to better present my recipes, cooking tips, and entertaining ideas, so you can more easily find exactly what you’re looking for.

I started by fixing a lot of behind-the-scenes (backend) issues, most of which you won’t see, but they’re important and long overdue. This is a multi-month project, and over the next few months, you’ll start to notice visible improvements. I’m excited about where it’s heading, and grateful for your patience while I make it better for you.

Now… let’s talk Super Bowl food. 🏈 Here are 10 of my make ahead favorites that are perfect for grazing, sharing, and cheering as you enjoy the big game this Sunday:

1. Spicy Chicken Wings

Crispy, 7-spice, crowd-pleasing game-day classic.

2. Layered Cheddar Cheese Torte

4. Pimento Cheese with Green Chiles

A Southern classic with a little kick and lots of cheesy goodness.

5. Taco Salad Dip (No Beans or Meat!)

Traditional taco flavors in an easy, scoopable party dip.

6. Ham, Cheese, and Spinach Torte

Elegant sandwiches in torte form - sliceable, savory, and perfect for sharing.

7. Ham and Cheese Biscuits with Green Mayo

Buttery, savory biscuit sliders that disappear fast from the platter.

8. Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Slow-cooked, smoky, and perfect for piling high on soft buns.

9. Handheld Chicken Pot Pie

Comfort food favorite tucked into flaky, easy-to-eat packages.

10, Green Chile Chicken Soup

Hearty, warming, and great for feeding a hungry game-day crowd

P.S. I can’t sign off without acknowledging the horrific violence in Minneapolis. My heart is heavy, and I’m praying for an end to this madness and inhuman cruelty. 🙏 This is not who we are.

My Versions of the Masters Menu Favorites The Masters Tournament begins today at Augusta National Golf Club. It’s a sporting event steeped in tradition, from the iconic green jacket to the fact that it's played the same weekend, on the same historic course, every year. So why does a food blogger who doesn’t play golf love the Masters? Because that same sense of tradition extends to the food. The Augusta menu has remained virtually unchanged for decades; it's famously simple and subtly...

collage of 4 dishes to serve while watching March Madness

Game-Worthy Recipes for March Madness Weekend I never paid much attention to basketball until I married Robert, but now, I’m completely hooked. Every year, we start watching the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament from the very beginning and follow it through to the Final Four and championship game. It’s the perfect excuse to settle in, watch some incredibly exciting match ups, mix up a good cocktail, and enjoy delicious food. Instead of typical heavier game-day fare, I like to serve dishes that...
